Contracts & Grants Analyst 2 Under the general direction of the CHASS Contracts and Grants Unit Supervisor, manage and coordinate complex fiscal budgeting and administration to ensure CHASS departments maintain integrity and internal controls. Serve the CHASS Contracts and Grants team by performing advanced budget and resource analyses, as well as conducting internal fund audits using robust analytical tools. Responsibilities include tracking and reconciling expenses for extramural and other funding sources, maintaining strong internal controls, and adapting to evolving needs for financial reports and ad hoc information for Principal Investigators, department Chairpersons, and administrative staff. Prepare agency-specific, multi-year budgets and facilitate the submission of contract and grant proposals to various federal and non-federal agencies. Additionally, assist with training departmental staff on Contracts and Grants procedures, providing guidance to resolve issues and manage funds more effectively. In collaboration with investigators, develop grant budgets that include appropriate salary and benefit rates, travel, materials and supplies, equipment, publications, and indirect costs. Review submission requirements and compile all components of grant proposals, ensuring full compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines. Provide assistance to CHASS departments in the management and processing of research grants, serving as a resource for matters related to new proposals, competing and non-competing renewals, re-budgeting, cost transfers, no-cost extensions, and continuation activities. Oversee fiscal management of annual income allocations from granting agencies. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience. Experience with processing moderately complex financial accounting transactions with an online financial system. Ability to solve problems using investigative/research and analytical skills. Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc. Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the University of California financial policy and procedures. Experience using UCR online financial, payroll, purchasing and travel systems.
