Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Credit & Collections team by conducting timely and effective customer interactions to ensure payments are received in accordance with agreed terms. This position is responsible for maintaining a healthy aging profile, achieving collection targets, and assessing credit risk in alignment. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day customer collections activities, including follow-up calls and emails to ensure timely payments. Monitor and maintain assigned accounts – including customer calls, account reconciliations, and dispute resolution. Perform credit risk assessments and reviews in accordance with internal policies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues or payment discrepancies. Document all collection activity in the ERP system and ensure accurate reporting of account status. Support cash application processes by coordinating with relevant teams and ensuring accurate allocation of payments. Identify high-risk accounts and escalate issues as needed. Meet or exceed individual and departmental collection targets. Assist in process improvement initiatives related to collections and credit management. Key Skill Requirements: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, or Collections. Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with JD Edwards (JDE) strongly preferred. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and recommend practical solutions. Understanding of laws related to collections and cash application. Effective negotiation skills with experience handling difficult customer conversations. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Ability to work full-time in an on-site office environment. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in the medical device or healthcare industry is a plus. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
