Job DescriptionSenior Public Sector Audit Manager - Government & Not-for-Profit Focus
A leading regional CPA firm is seeking an accomplished Senior Audit Manager to lead our growing government and not-for-profit practice. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their public sector expertise while advancing toward partnership.
Overview As Senior Audit Manager, you'll lead complex assurance engagements for state and local government entities while serving as a key member of our leadership team. This role combines technical expertise, client relationship management, and business development responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Lead multiple audit engagements for government and not-for-profit clients
Drive client relationships and serve as primary point of contact
Ensure compliance with GASB standards, Yellow Book, and Uniform Guidance
Mentor and develop audit staff while building high-performing teams
Contribute to practice growth through business development initiatives
Oversee engagement economics including budgeting and billing
Participate in recruitment and talent development programs
Qualifications
7-10 years public accounting experience with 2+ years at Manager level
Active CPA license
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Extensive experience auditing state/local governments in CA/OR
Deep knowledge of GAAP, GASB, GAGAS, and Uniform Guidance
Proven track record in business development
Outstanding leadership and communication abilities
