Clinic Billing Specialist II - Partially Remote Location: Baton Rouge, LA Job purpose: To review and prepare billing forms and ensure accuracy and completeness for electronic or hardcopy claims submission. Prepare and review all billing forms to ensure accuracy and completeness for claims submission to insurance carriers. Identify and record required billing information according to insurance carrier requirements with 100% accuracy. Complete billing information accurately and process claims electronically with 100% accuracy; mail claims to insurance carriers daily. Enter documentation and adjustments through computer systems to maintain a correct account balance. Update system information daily according to correspondence received and processed; document changes and submit information to appropriate personnel. Resolve issues by seeking clear directions and bringing problems to proper resolution; review and identify charge discrepancies and complete rebilling requests from inter-department personnel. Review charge summaries on each patient bill to identify discrepancies with 100% accuracy; audit requests for accurate information; complete rebilling within 10 days according to established procedures; manually document rebilling logs with 100% accuracy. Prepare daily production reports, maintain required records, reports, and files while evaluating account information. Monitor number of accounts and outstanding balances within three days of receiving reports; apply procedures to prevent delinquencies or unbilled status; initiate appropriate follow-up; perform other duties as assigned. Minimum typing skills of 45 wpm, ten key by touch, data entry skills. HIPAA Requirements:
