Revenue Accounting Manager
to lead our revenue accounting operations at a pivotal time in our journey. In early 2024, we reached profitability and now we’re scaling from 5M to 50M customers and building a $10B business. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise in ASC 606, deep data fluency, and the ability to operate across multiple systems and revenue streams. You’ll build scalable processes to support timely, accurate, and audit-ready reporting and partner with teams across Data, Engineering, and Finance to meet public company standards. Jerry.ai is building the first super app to make car ownership affordable and accessible – insurance, buy/sell, registration, loans, safety, repairs, parking, etc. We have over 5M customers, $240M in funding, and rapid revenue growth. This role is based in New York, NY and offers IPO-readiness opportunities as part of its scope.
Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end revenue accounting process, including recognition of commissions, contingent commissions, usage fees, and related revenue streams. Apply and interpret ASC 606 across various revenue streams, including variable consideration and usage-based models. Ensure timely and accurate month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting for all revenue-related accounts. Maintain and update revenue recognition policies and accounting memos. Partner with cross-functional teams in data and engineering to enhance data quality and streamline revenue reporting from multiple systems. Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities to scale revenue accounting operations. Collaborate with external auditors, providing support for audit and SOX compliance activities. Assist with special projects including ERP optimization, internal control development, and IPO or public company readiness (if applicable).
Ideal Profile
CPA, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Big 4 background and/or experience at a high-growth tech or fintech company preferred 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition for complex contracts High comfort with high transaction volume and data complexity Strong systems mindset — experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite), revenue tools, and ability to work across disconnected systems Tech-forward, experience with AI and latest technologies to build scalable operations a plus Roll up the sleeves, can-do attitude Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills Strong leadership, problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills
