Senior Property Accountant (hybrid position)
Salary: $80,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Location: Atlanta, GA (hybrid)
Overview A commercial and mixed-use real estate investment and management group is looking to hire a Property Accountant for its team. The successful candidate will have deep experience with real estate, property accounting, commercial properties, and MRI or Yardi.
Responsibilities
Managing and executing all aspects of property accounting for a portfolio of commercial, office, industrial, and mixed-use properties.
Preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Handling CAM reconciliations and charges, ensuring accuracy and compliance with lease agreements.
Working closely with property managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property financials.
Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
Participating in the preparation of financial audits.
Resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Using property management software such as MRI and RealPage to streamline accounting processes and generate insightful financial reports.
Staying updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and excellence in property accounting practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in real estate.
Proficiency in property management software, including MRI and RealPage.
Extensive experience with CAM reconciliations and charges.
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
CPA designation is preferred but not required.
