Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Reporting Analyst will analyze various fees and pricing data to make recommendations to department chairs, lawyers, practice groups, and firm leaders to improve the Firm’s profitability. The person selected for this position must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have creative problem-solving skills, strong Excel skills, and a strong background in data analysis. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Understands and summarizes financial information on past client work and attorney performance. Recommends to management new approaches to traditional business models, as appropriate, to strengthen client relationships and enhance practice profitability. Responsible for communicating financial and operational statistics and analysis directly to key decision makers within the Business Office, partners, and executive leadership. Researches, analyzes and documents moderate to complex financial projects as assigned. Assists in the creation and maintenance of various periodic and ad hoc reports and resources for attorneys and staff. Maintains financial software configurations and processes and communicates with vendors any changes, needs or updates.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

Requires advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access; knowledge of SQL a plus. Requires a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills so as to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence. Required to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others. Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects and strong time management skills. Ability to travel as necessary.

Education And Experience Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Actuary Sciences, or similar area required. Minimum of two years in the legal or professional service field, or similar financial analyst experience in another field required. Strong mathematical, data analysis and/or financial background required.
