What We Are Looking For: Aspida Re Services is seeking a Valuation Actuary to join our team. This role is vital for assisting with reserving and product modeling. The position reports to the Senior Actuary and requires onsite presence in Bermuda. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop, maintain, and execute financial reporting models and reports, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation of results. Lead quarterly and annual actuarial valuations, including best estimate liability (BEL) calculations and reserve rollforwards. Prepare EBS technical provisions and support capital reporting in line with BMA regulatory frameworks. Contribute to regulatory filings and assist in creating management, finance, and risk reports. Enhance actuarial models for existing and new treaties. Participate in experience studies and refine actuarial assumptions. Monitor assumptions to align with current and emerging trends. Maintain documentation of procedures, ensuring compliance with controls and standards. Identify opportunities to streamline valuation processes and improve model governance. Complete ad hoc and special projects promptly. Collaborate with pricing and risk management teams to ensure aligned actuarial functions. Successful candidates must meet the following requirements: FSA or equivalent qualification. Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related numerate discipline. Minimum of 5 years' relevant actuarial experience. Experience with US GAAP, US Stat, Bermuda EBS, or similar standards (including Solvency II or Canadian standards) is preferred. Proficiency with Moody’s Axis or similar actuarial modeling software. Data management skills in R, Python, or related languages are a plus.
