The opportunity EY Private Tax is a growing practice within the organization, focusing on privately held companies, from family-owned businesses to private equity owned companies. These high growth private companies offer a diverse and challenging portfolio of work in tax planning and compliance, with opportunities to progress to manager. Your Key Responsibilities Support managers through partners in providing tax services, balancing time between compliance and planning, and interacting directly with clients. Focus on flow-through entities (partnerships) to become a trusted advisor and role model across multiple teams. Prepare or review federal and state tax returns for U.S. partnerships, including foreign reporting requirements for cross-border tax compliance (foreign partnerships, foreign corporations, foreign disregarded entities, and foreign affiliate reporting). Provide tax research, draft tax memoranda, and assist in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services. Identify and communicate significant tax matters to Managers and Senior Managers. Liaise with other service lines and subject matter professionals; build long-term client relationships and tailor services to client needs. Explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients; maintain and share technical knowledge. Review the work of junior staff; identify risks and opportunities to improve services and processes. Skills And Attributes For Success To qualify for the role, you must have A bachelor's degree in a related field, with tax, business or financial planning experience. Active progress toward or a CPA certification or membership in The Bar. Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills; ability to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Minimum of 2 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization. Willingness to travel; comfortable in a balanced hybrid environment. Ideally, you will have A commitment to continuing learning. Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA or Lexis Nexis. Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus.
