Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino, located near Ocean City, MD. This is a full-time, year-round position with an excellent compensation package, including medical, paid time off, holiday pay and 401k options. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Supervises property accounting function, including AP, receiving, internal and external reporting. Manages and supervises assigned fiscal operations to achieve goals within available resources. Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments. Leads employees, fostering teamwork, morale, motivation and open communication. Coaches employees with a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations. Assists in developing short and long-range financial plans; gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies and reports; coordinates department activities with other departments and agencies as needed. Coordinates financial reporting and financial forecasts on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Manages the month-end close process and records all general journal entries. Oversees the reconciliation of related ledgers and accounts. Develops accounting for new business and assists with capital project expenditures. Provides professional financial advice to department heads and presents to management. Ensures budgetary discipline and cost control; monitors revenues and expenditures; prepares annual budget requests; ensures efficient use of funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time. Determines work procedures, schedules, and workflow; studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency. Prepares studies, reports and information for decision-making and reporting. Ensures compliance with State Lottery Regulation, Internal Controls, Accounting Policies, and Ocean Downs Policies & Procedures. Performs additional duties as assigned. Required Skills And Abilities
Five (5) years accounting experience; gaming experience a plus. One (1) year supervisory experience. Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent Excel skills for modeling reports and analysis; experience with accounting software programs. Ability to prepare and review balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements monthly. Problem-solving ability and capacity to work with varied instructions in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication with guests, co-workers and management. English proficiency sufficient to perform the necessary functions. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Maryland Lottery & Gaming Control Agency license as required of gaming employees. Education And Experience
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA a plus. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
