Overview

Loss Prevention Officer Location: Fort Lauderdale Hotel, opening Fall 2025. Omni Fort Lauderdale will be connected to the Broward County Convention Center and nearby Port Everglades cruise terminal with access to multiple amenities and event spaces. Be a part of the pre-opening team for the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel. The property will offer 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a rooftop bar, a pool, spa, fitness center, and over 120,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The role is to ensure the safety and tranquil stay of guests and associates and to maintain hotel safety policies and procedures in a secure environment.

Responsibilities Performs security patrols and monitoring of the property, including restaurants, public areas, banquet and meeting space, guest floors, associate entrances, parking areas, back-of-house areas, and exterior.

Reports vandalism, damage, malfunctions or security issues in Synergy and in the Loss Prevention Daily Activity Report or Incident Report as required.

Visits locations requiring special attention as needed.

Responds immediately to emergency incidents and security requests.

Monitors life safety program compliance, training, and SOP directives; reports deficiencies to leadership.

Monitors CCTV and alarm systems and maintains security of the receiving area.

Ensures guest, associate, and hotel property safety at all times.

Provides written shift reports and oral emergency notifications per established security procedures.

Performs administrative duties for the Loss Prevention Department, including writing reports, maintaining files, processing work orders, ordering supplies, scheduling, and posting bulletin board information.

Maintains professional standards of security and appearance in all interactions.

Monitors associates entering and leaving the hotel, collects package passes, and inspects parcels.

Monitors the back entrance and receiving dock.

Checks all personnel entering the premises, validates identification, and directs non-staff personnel as appropriate.

Confiscates unauthorized items andNotifies the Director of Loss Prevention, Director of Engineering, HR Director and department heads as needed.

Maintains the key control program and investigates discrepancies, reporting findings.

Ensures security equipment is kept clean and functional.

Administers the hotel Lost and Found program.

Maintains communication with the Director of Loss Prevention.

Understands emergency procedures and radio codes.

Performs duties as assigned by supervisor and follows directions from leadership.

Interacts with guests, visitors, and associates in a positive, responsive manner and addresses requests promptly.

Qualifications One-year experience in a similar Loss Prevention role preferred.

Experience in Loss Prevention in an upscale hospitality establishment preferred.

Ability to become CPR and basic first aid certified.

Good verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and email.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and performance.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Environment & Position Analysis Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.

Stand, walk or sit for extended periods or an entire shift.

Repetitive motion with keyboard/phone use for extended periods.

Tools & Equipment Desktop computer (Opera, Synergy, Visionline, Key control system, CCTV Monitors, Microsoft Office), printer, telephone, copier, fax, scanner, radios.
