Director, Wholesale - Outdoor Specialty Director, Wholesale - Outdoor Specialty Purpose of Role This position leads Under Armour’s Outdoor sales teams, its distribution opportunity and strategy, and executes UA’s integrated Go-To-Market plans. This leader will ensure Under Armour is powerfully represented across Outdoor channels to most effectively drive sales and market share and realize our overall brand mission to “Make You Better”. Your Impact Leading one of Under Armour’s foundational and high-exposure categories, the Director of Sales-Outdoor will be instrumental in the development and execution of strategic initiatives, ultimately driving the Outdoor business across a rapidly evolving and competitive environment. The Director of Sales – Outdoor will own and have accountability for the Outdoor business across sales, distribution, outside representation and P&L management. Leadership influence over all cross-functional areas as they pertain to the Outdoor channel, including but not limited to sales, distribution, strategy, marketing, merchandising, planning, customer service, etc. Set, lead, and execute long term growth plans and regional go-to-market strategies and processes. Align with the category vision to build a regional sales strategy and the comprehensive budget to carry it out. Revenue and Contribution Margin accountability for the Outdoor Channel. Build and develop a sales leadership team that delivers best-in-class service and partnership across the channel. Ownership of revenue forecasts and communication to executive leadership and finance partners. Identify business opportunities and risks with the ability to develop appropriate strategies to address each. Full P&L accountability to deliver against Revenue, Returns, Allowances, and Contribution Margin targets. Approve regional marketing strategy, budget allocation, and trade show/event selection for Outdoor. Approve in-season selling decisions as requested by sales managers, reps and accounts regarding returns, allowances, cancellations, etc. Embrace and drive the cross-functional “pod” mentality. We win together. Focus 100% on authentic Outdoor brand image with key retail partners, both brick and mortar as well as digitally. Manage SG&A for the channel. Qualifications Track record and proven success in leading and growing a global business. Expert-level understanding of the outdoor marketplace: consumer, products, trends, competitive set. Strong business and financial acumen with strengths in areas critical to the channel. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders; consultative and collaborative style that allows for influence without authority. Possess a strong point of view and can clearly articulate vision and strategy. Ability to “make a decision” and stand by it and be decisive in the face of ambiguity. Thinks consumer-first and drives relevant strategies that drive preference and loyalty for UA. Strong understanding of apparel, footwear and accessories – features/benefits and selling points. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving. Pushes beyond the obvious and is comfortable going into “unchartered” territory in setting direction for the team and organization. Ability to develop customer relationships, execute key sales objectives and help retail partners achieve their performance metric targets. An executive with inspirational leadership who fosters teamwork and attracts top talent; develops strong teams within the organization. Positive energy, polished and engaging communication style, and strong consultative sales experience in the Athletic and/or Outdoor channel.
