Overview
Assistant Attorney General- Workers' Compensation (Cleveland Only). The Ohio Attorney General's Office seeks to fill an Assistant Attorney General opening in the Workers' Compensation Section, in Cleveland. A candidate should be able to manage a high-volume caseload and preferably have two years of experience representing the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission of Ohio in common pleas and/or appellate courts and the Ohio Supreme Court. The position will be hybrid in-person/remote with schedule adjustments based on training and operational needs. Responsibilities
Case management Settlement evaluations and negotiations Motion practice Discovery (written and depositions) Trial and appellate court appearances Occasionally administrative hearings Writing appellate briefs and/or oral advocacy Qualifications
Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio (Section 4705.01, ORC) Two years or more of experience working as an Attorney Strong writing and oral advocacy skills; attention to detail; collaboration; strategic thinking; verbal and written communication Details
Primary Location: Cleveland, OH Compensation: Commensurate with experience Schedule: Full-time Work Hours: M-F, 8am - 5pm Classification: Unclassified Union: Exempt from Union Agency Overview
