Overview
TLP Residential Counselor - 2nd Shift at MIRCI. The Mental Illness Recovery Center (MIRCI) is a progressive nonprofit that assists homeless individuals, adults, and youth with clinical needs and permanent housing. MIRCI seeks a TLP Residential Counselor to support youth housed in transitional and permanent supportive housing programs in developing and refining skills to facilitate a successful transition to self-sufficient living. The position reports to the TLP coordinator and works Monday through Friday, 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm. Responsibilities
Provide rehabilitative services to clients served and respond to client needs effectively and in a timely manner. Assist youth clients with developing housing plans. Facilitate daily community meetings and skill-building groups. Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship with all youth residents. Assist and supervise the daily maintenance of the youth residents, assist with meal preparation and self-administration of medications and activities to improve social skills/interaction. Perform other related duties as required. Minimum Requirements
Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience Two years of experience in the human service field preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Knowledge of providing supportive services and assistance to youth who are homeless or at risk of homelessness Knowledge of crisis interventions Knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with clients and other staff members Knowledge of basic health, welfare, and social services provided by other public and private agencies Ability to establish and maintain effective contact with individuals, families, and representatives of other professional disciplines Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to persons served Salary and Schedule
Pay: Up to $21.22 per hour Schedule: 2nd Shift, 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday–Friday Necessary Special Requirements
Must have a valid SC driver's license and a good driving record. Benefits and Perks
