Sap Advanced Business Application Programming Consultant Overview Location: 100% Onsite | Columbia, SC

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday

Project Scope The selected consultant will help implement

cloud-native solutions

to support:

REST API and event/message-based (pub/sub) integrations

Standardized engineering patterns and reusable components

Automated DevOps processes (Unit, Regression, Security Testing, Deployment)

Continuous improvement of SDLC and DevOps maturity

Responsibilities

Contribute to full software development lifecycle (solutioning, development, testing, code reviews)

Ensure completion of acceptance criteria and definition of done for assigned tasks

Work collaboratively within DevOps pipelines ensuring high-quality deliverables

Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design, enhance, and optimize business and technical processes

Required Skills

5+ years

of application development experience using object-oriented principles (SOLID)

5+ years

of Java web development (Spring Boot, Maven, JUnit)

Experience in

containerized application development (Docker)

Strong understanding of

RESTful API design

and

event-driven architecture

Hands-on experience with

Azure DevOps

for CI/CD and backlog management

Proficient in

Git

and branching strategies (e.g., GitFlow)

Familiarity with

Test-Driven Development (TDD)

Experience working in

Agile/Scrum/Kanban

environments

Preferred Skills

Experience with

managed database services

(Azure SQL, AWS RDS)

Familiarity with

SAP, SAP 4/HANA, Ivalua , or similar ERP systems

Experience using

project management tools

such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jira

Education & Certifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

OR equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of application development experience

Preferred

Azure and/or AWS Certifications

SAP or ERP-related certifications
