The Red Hat Consulting team is adding a Consultant to assist in delivering solutions that solve customer business challenges, through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. In this position, you will play a key role as a promoter of adopting Red Hat's solutions for our customers by using your technical expertise and interpersonal skills. You’ll need to have a balance of solid technical experience, awareness of open source, a baseline understanding of business processes, and the ability to solve issues at the enterprise level. This position requires regular on-site work with clients across North America, so a willingness to travel to customer locations 30-40 weeks per year is required. Applicants must reside within close proximity to a primary airport. What You Will Do

Support customers in building enterprise technology infrastructures that are scalable, optimally managed, and adaptable to technological improvements using Red Hat solutions. Continuously learn, grow, develop, and adapt to new skills and technologies. Travel frequently to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunication, and institutional customers. Role and Training

After joining Red Hat, you will go through an intensive training program on Kubernetes, OpenShift technologies and related DevOps and GitOps topics. Your skill set will evolve as you progress: At 2 months: join a project team and develop the following: Understand how to build production-ready container and virtualization platforms integrated with existing enterprise systems. Learn how to deploy source code into running, scalable containers and virtual machines in an automated fashion at enterprise scale. Gain practical experience with Red Hat offerings. Within 6 months: prepare to deliver a project by attaining the following: Successful, collaborative delivery of customer requirements using Red Hat OpenShift. Knowledge of how a customer use case can be developed into a project plan and how those requirements align with Red Hat technologies. Understanding of how Red Hat technologies can transform software delivery (DevOps/GitOps) practices at large organizations. Within 12 months: demonstrate technical leadership by accomplishing the following: Successfully implementing complex, large-scale container platform solutions in challenging customer environments. Help other consultants learn DevOps/GitOps paired with container technologies. Contribute lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos to internal and external communities of practice. Apply new technologies, frameworks, or methodologies to container platforms. What You Will Bring

Experience delivering successful modern cloud platform consulting engagements. Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud solutions, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. Experience configuring cloud technologies, including container management and orchestration. Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes. Experience with IT automation platforms; Ansible is a plus. Experience with technologies including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure is a plus. Understanding of core IT systems concepts such as infrastructure, networking, storage, and security. Experience across one or more vertical industry areas. Ability to understand stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work. Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders. Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams. Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives. Willingness to travel to customer locations about 30-40 weeks per year on average across North America. Degree in computer science or a technical discipline. Salary range for this position is

$151,170.00 . Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
