QinetiQ US is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to support our Finance team. Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll for a growing company; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets for employees and subcontractors; track and deduct garnishments and other special payroll deductions. Meet payroll and month-end deadlines. Coordinate between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data; prepare/distribute detailed reports (e.g., overtime, leave balances, headcount, retirement contributions). Administrate the electronic timekeeping system (Deltek and TimeAde). Set up employees, validate program charges, ensure adherence to FLSA; monitor submissions and ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service. Establish/maintain employee records; process changes timely and with proper authorization in line with APA policy and regulatory requirements. Update ADP with employee tax information, direct deposits, and other data. Research and apply state, local, and federal withholding taxes and regulations. GCS Employee Master File Setup – ensure integrity by reconciling module data with Employee Setup Sheets. TimeAde subcontractor Master File setup – ensure subcontractor employees are correctly configured and match the GCS database. Participate in payroll reviews with HR and management; prepare payroll entries and reconcile the pay register to the accounting system. Assist with audits and information requests from customers and third parties; provide accounting analysis and complex reconciliations. Maintain Concur Master Files and upload travel/expenses; create Concur Payroll file and upload to ADP for payment. Contribute to special projects (e.g., incurred cost submissions, rate calculations) as workloads allow. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
10-15 years in a payroll office performing all payroll functions; three years of additional payroll office experience in lieu of an Associate's degree Experience managing a team Highly skilled with Costpoint and ADP Working knowledge of integrations Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, and Internet Explorer Strong understanding of workflow in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion Excellent problem solving, judgment, attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Company EEO Statement
