We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our client's team. The successful candidate will assist our attorneys in all phases of the litigation process, from inception through trial. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
Assist attorneys with case preparation, including organizing and managing case files, conducting legal research, and maintaining document management systems. Document Preparation:
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, and other court filings. Discovery:
Coordinate and manage the discovery process, including the collection, review, and production of documents, and preparation of discovery responses. Trial Preparation:
Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and compiling trial binders. Provide on-site trial support as needed. Client Communication:
Maintain regular contact with clients, witnesses, and experts, and facilitate communication between the legal team and clients. Court Filings:
File documents with state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines. Research:
Conduct legal and factual research using online resources, law libraries, and other tools. Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and handling correspondence. Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program. Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis). Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work. Familiarity with electronic court filing systems and procedures. Other:
