Blaszkow Legal, PLLC is an established Northern Virginia personal injury law firm (begun in 1992). We litigate personal injury and insurance claims in state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. We are a small, aggressive, tech-savvy team focused on OUTSIDE THE BOX solutions that optimize client recoveries. We handle a full range of cases from modest value to major seven-figure cases with a client-centric approach. Job Description
We are looking for a superlative candidate to become our newest Paralegal. A bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills to interact with clients from intake through all stages of litigation. Duties include intake interviews, case investigation and preparation, medical record review, drafting and responding to correspondence, preparing and drafting pleadings and other court filings, and more. A strong desire to advocate on behalf of our clients is a must. This is a full-time position that could occasionally entail weekend and evening work. Compensation : Base salary ranges from $44,000 - $60,000 (depending on qualifications and experience), plus attainable monthly performance bonuses and participation bonuses for business brought to the firm. Other benefits include PTO, BCBS health insurance, a retirement plan with employer match, and a professional development budget. Bilingual Bonus : Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish will receive a translation bonus of $2,000 (paid in two installments: after 30 days and after 6 months). Responsibilities
Interview new clients and perform comprehensive evaluations of what has been done, and what needs to be Actively review cases in pre-litigation, ensuring that medical records are received and investigations are complete Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, and other staff members Evaluate cases for potential resolution and need for litigation Brief managing attorneys on case posture and outcomes Draft pleadings, discovery, motions Administrative and other management functions related to the practice of law Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in law; experience in personal injury practice is highly desired Familiarity with civil procedure (Virginia, Maryland, and/or DC) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to build rapport with clients Excellent written and verbal communication skills For bilingual candidates: must be fluent in English and Spanish Core Values
