A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney specializing in personal injury cases to join their team in Stockton, California. This full-time, on-site position involves managing personal injury case files from inception to resolution, providing legal advice, and representing clients in various legal proceedings throughout California.
Duties
Handle personal injury case files from start to finish, managing a full caseload. Evaluate potential personal injury claims and advise prospective clients. Draft, review, and modify legal documents including claims, motions, and pleadings. Research case law and gather relevant evidence, with preferred experience using Westlaw. Communicate with clients, witnesses, and insurance adjusters to gather information. Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients. Make court appearances and attend mediations, depositions, and trials statewide. Document and update case statuses in the case management system, preferably CasePeer. Manage a team of paralegals, legal assistants, and other support staff. Track work calendar and court deadlines according to the California Code of Civil Procedure. Calculate costs and compensation for settlement presentations. Requirements
JD, licensed and admitted to the California State Bar. 1-5 years of experience in Plaintiff Personal Injury preferred. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications
Licensed to practice law in California. Skills
