Overview

Under general supervision, provides residential and clinical support to substance use disorder clients. Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by the NYS OASAS and other relevant governing bodies. Supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment. Responsibilities

Provide residential and clinical support services for substance use disorder clients. Cary a caseload of clients and complete all necessary paperwork related to client services in compliance with Agency and regulatory standards. Provide individual therapy services; responsible for admissions, discharges and treatment plans. Manage medication processes and procedures for all program participants; provide necessary case management to assure client participation in treatment and support services. Collaborate and communicate with appropriate collateral (e.g., Agency staff, outpatient treatment providers, vocational and educational providers, criminal justice agencies, and related community organizations) to assure coordination of client services. Assist clients to meet all requirements for Department of Human Services (DHS). Provide life skill programming including vocational/educational planning, parenting, anger management, planning skills, financial literacy, daily living skills, medication management, symptom management and relapse prevention. Facilitate life skills education through one-on-one sessions; coordinate outside speakers to support life skill programming; facilitate educational and skills development sessions as needed. Communicate with the residential team about client and residential community needs for life skills; monitor residents to ensure a safe therapeutic environment. Conduct weekly house checks and weekly one-on-one sessions; document any unusual incidents or situations; communicate with appropriate staff regarding clients. Work with the Program Manager on monthly housekeeping reports and facilitate work order requests with Facilities; ensure residents’ activities are safe and therapeutic. In the absence of the Program Manager, serve as point of contact for on-call schedule and provide crisis intervention and conflict management to residents as needed. Assist clients with food and hygiene as needed; facilitate recreational activities and plan recreation nights with residents; secure department vehicle for community activities. Participate in all team or residential activities; mediate crises as needed and participate in on-call schedules; communicate client needs to the Program Manager; work cooperatively with internal and external partners. Participate in relevant Agency meetings and trainings; pursue professional development through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences/workshops. Support the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan, including Core Competency initiatives of collaboration, community focus, innovation, and cultural competence. Education:

Associate’s Degree in Social Work or related Human Services field required. Credentials:

Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License. QHP – CASAC-T, CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, NCCC, LMHC, CRC, RN, or PhD required. Recovery peer advocate training preferred. Experience:

Minimum of two years of experience working with substance use disorder clients or mental health services preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Counselor Tiers:

Counselor I: CASAC-T; Counselor II: CASAC; Counselor III: Master CASAC, Special CASAC, or other QHP. Physical Demands/Work Environment:
