Community Hospital is seeking a
Genetic Counselor
to join our Oncology Clinic team. This role provides critical support to patients and families by assessing hereditary cancer risk, explaining genetic testing options, and guiding informed decision-making. The Genetic Counselor will collaborate closely with oncologists, providers, and the care team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Providing genetic counseling services to patients and families in the oncology clinic.
Collecting and analyzing personal and family medical histories to assess hereditary cancer risks.
Educating patients on genetic testing, possible outcomes, and implications for care.
Coordinating genetic testing, reviewing results, and supporting patients in understanding findings.
Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate genetic information into care planning.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program.
Board Certified with the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
Experience in oncology preferred.
Compensation
Hiring range:
$41.00 – $51.25 per hour , depending on education and experience.
