Responsibilities Perform clerical duties related to patient admission, discharge, and documentation, prioritizing tasks based on departmental needs. Greet patients and families, assisting with forms and paperwork. Complete admission and discharge paperwork and manage file processing. Build rapport with nursing and clinical staff, responding to their questions and requests. Organize and file medical information appropriately. Answer phones and call bells, communicating clearly with units, physicians, and visitors. Safeguard sensitive medical information, maintaining confidentiality at all times. Measure and interpret patient’s heart rhythm, documenting findings per departmental standards, and communicate changes effectively. Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure departmental efficiency. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of the Hackensack Meridian Health Monitor Tech Exam required. Experience as a Nursing Unit Secretary or similar in a hospital setting is strongly desired. Current & active NUS Monitor Tech work experience preferred. BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association required. Knowledge of basic heart anatomy and physiology is preferred. Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills required. Must enjoy working with patients and families and be adaptable to changing census levels.
