Records and Residency Specialist (Administrative Support Coordinator II) – San Diego State University. The Office of the Registrar is hiring a Records and Residency Specialist to support students, faculty, and staff with academic records and residency for tuition purposes. Student & Public Support: Assist students, staff, and faculty with questions about residency, grades, and academic records. Academic Records Management: Handle projects related to academic records using complex procedures and systems. Policy Interpretation: Apply and explain university policies related to registration, grades, and transcripts. Residency Determination: Review and process residency reclassification requests in accordance with CSU, state, and federal regulations. Compliance & Confidentiality: Navigate sensitive issues with discretion and uphold FERPA and institutional policies. Position Information
Full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits-eligible, permanent/probationary position. Non-exempt under FLSA; eligible for overtime. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., may vary based on operational needs. Partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego. Education And Experience
Entry to this classification requires functional knowledge of standard office procedures and the ability to operate in varied organizational structures. Strong English grammar, spelling, and punctuation are required, with clear oral and written communication. Some positions may require knowledge of business mathematics and the ability to learn new office technology systems and software. Typically, these qualifications are obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or equivalents with several years of related office work experience. Key Qualifications
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and navigate policies with sound judgment and flexibility. Skilled at identifying and solving administrative challenges with awareness of broader impacts. Effective communicator, able to write clearly and present ideas professionally. Experience in a Registrar’s Office handling student records, enrollment services, and academic policies (preferred). CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,367 - $6,362 per month (Step 1 - Step 20). Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 1 ($4,367) for highly qualified candidates. Future increases are subject to contract negotiations. Full Benefits Package Includes
