Overview Work within an exceptional team of counselors to care for those who have experienced the profound trauma of sexual abuse and assault to make a real difference in the lives of others.

The Rape Treatment Center (RTC) at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center provides free, comprehensive, state-of-the-art treatment for sexual assault victims - adults and children - 24 hours a day, including emergency medical care, forensic/evidentiary services, counseling, advocacy, accompaniment, and information about rights and options to help victims make informed choices and decisions. The RTC also provides ongoing, longer-term, trauma-informed therapy and other support services for victims and their significant others.

The On-Call Rape Treatment Center Counselor provides telephone and in-person on-call response services, including on-site crisis intervention, advocacy, and accompaniment to sexual assault victims seeking medical care and forensic medical examinations.

Evening and weekend shifts. Weekday evening shifts begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 8:00 a.m. Weekend/Saturday & Sunday shifts are 12 hours - 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Holiday coverage of minimum of 48 hours during the calendar year is required. This is a Per Diem appointment; may convert to career.

Salary range: $50.38 - $65.01 Hourly.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work or Social Welfare from an accredited institution

CA State LCSW or be license-eligible to practice in CA

Ability to work effectively with people who represent diversity in age, ethnicity, and cultural backgrounds

Must live within 30 minutes of the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, CA

Experience with victims of sexual assault and bilingual (Spanish and English) language skills preferred.
