Overview
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Systems Engineer to support the Sentinel program. This position will be located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama. Responsibilities
Lead the performance of technical tasks on schedule, at cost, and in alignment with all requirements as technical lead. Plan, execute, and manage the technical scope in collaboration with leadership. Create plans and standards for architecture, requirements, and design to address safe, fault-tolerant, and deterministic operation for critical functions. Collaborate with multiple engineering specialties, stakeholders, and suppliers across Integrated Product Teams and other partners. Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and integrate software engineering, system design, requirements, and testing. Participate in Agile environments and cross-functional Scrum teams. Qualifications
US Citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance (reinvestigation date within the last 6 years) and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP). Ability to plan, execute, and manage technical scope with leadership support. Current understanding of software engineering best practices. Experience in software engineering, system design, software requirements, and test. Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional Scrum teams; experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and stakeholders. Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience. Experience leading technical tasks to meet schedule, cost, and requirements as technical lead. Ability to create architecture, requirements, and design plans addressing safe and deterministic operation for critical functions. Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM; equivalent experience considered. Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Proficiency with DOORS, Cameo; ability to write and decompose system requirements. Ability to evaluate risks and tradeoffs and present solutions to management. Knowledge of Command and Launch systems and mission objectives. OMG SysML Model Builder Fundamental Certification. Experience with verification planning and flight-test system buildup. Experience using Model-Based Product Line Engineering concepts. Benefits and Compensation
