As a
Project Engineer
at Donaldson Company, you will help build, feed, and move the world. In this entry level engineering role, you will help evolve our products to maintain Donaldson's position as a tier one supplier to major OEM worldwide and help Donaldson achieve its aggressive company growth targets. You will work on air filtration products as part of our Mobile Solutions business unit serving global customers in the On and Off-Road markets. Role Responsibilities
Works within and supports the creative process of turning product concepts into best-in-class air filtration products needed to protect heavy duty equipment and the people that use them.
Analyzes current products to identify root causes impacting cost, quality, or performance.
Works with North American operations team to understand manufacturing constraints and redesign products to be successfully produced to specification within those constraints.
Reviews product specifications and process validation plans to develop, execute, and evaluate fitness-for-use testing.
Assists in researching, conducting experiments, gathering data, developing preliminary findings, and preparing written reports evaluating new technologies to gain performance, reduce costs and improve quality.
Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.
Follows prescribed procedures and conducts analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components.
Assists with project activities in a way that produces cost-effective, on-time results and technical program objectives and product specifications.
Travel 5-10%
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Material Science or similar field)
1+ years' experience of engineering, production manufacturing, or engineering internship experience
Ability to travel domestically 5-10%
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience; production manufacturing experience is a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of Lean and Six Sigma Manufacturing principles.
Demonstrated understanding of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Demonstrated flexibility when managing through competing projects and priorities.
Demonstrated ability to present and communicate technical concepts.
Experience with CAD packages for product design and documentation (Creo or NX preferred).
Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Filtration knowledge/experience a plus.
Annual Salary Range $60,000 - $75,800. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including applicable work experience, training, education, and performance.
Relocation This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
