MongoDB . The MongoDB Cloud Services Team helps users manage MongoDB at global scale. The Cloud Team is responsible for MongoDB Atlas, our database-as-a-service offering that enables users to deploy fault-tolerant, globally distributed MongoDB clusters in minutes. We’re seeking a Software Engineer to join our Insights and Telemetry (InTel) Team within Cloud Platforms. The Cloud InTel Team helps users understand the health and performance of their MongoDB deployments and develops tools that analyze customer operations and database state to provide index and schema suggestions, with the aim of improving database speed and efficiency. The team works on a variety of APIs and customer-facing UIs that empower MongoDB users to view and interact with their stored data. We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in New York City, NY for our hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with team members to design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs. Contribute to frontend tasks as needed, or work as a full-stack developer with a backend focus. Design and architect modern, scalable web applications. Troubleshoot complex problems in distributed environments and at the database diagnostic/operation level. Prepare and review code, participate in testing, and ensure high-quality software delivery.

Qualifications

Experience writing backend systems in a compiled language (Java, C#, Go, etc.). Experience with design and architecture of modern, scalable web applications. Ability to work in a distributed environment and diagnose complex performance issues.

Nice to Haves

Knowledge of database internals and tuning mechanisms, particularly indexing. Experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, especially maintaining an ecosystem of dependencies.

Compensation and Benefits

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is $101,000—$198,000 USD. Compensation is determined by skill, experience, qualifications, and location, and may include equity, 401(k), parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, mental health benefits, and health insurance options. The listed base salary applies to U.S.-based candidates.
