LMI is seeking a

Cloud Engineer

to join the RAPTR Platform development team. RAPTR is a next-generation modeling and simulation platform, designed to help solve the U.S. government's toughest mission and operational challenges. This role will focus on building cloud-native orchestration, compute, and scalability for RAPTR and its modeling and simulation engine, RSIM. The ideal candidate will bridge

cloud engineering

expertise with

mission-focused product development , working closely with the RAPTR engineering team and interfacing with LMI\'s

IronSled

(CI/CD pipeline team) to ensure solutions meet strict security and compliance requirements. This is a 100% remote role with quarterly travel for in person team planning and collaboration events. This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen. Design, implement, and

maintain

cloud-native orchestration and compute solutions to support RAPTR and RSIM scalability. Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for deployment and automation of RAPTR workloads. Collaborate with RAPTR software engineers, modelers, and analysts to

optimize

performance for large-scale simulations. Partner with the

IronSled

DevSecOps/CI-CD pipeline team to align deployments with enterprise security and compliance frameworks. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system reliability and availability. Drive cloud architecture decisions that balance scalability, resilience, cost-efficiency, and security. Support containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) to streamline deployment and scaling. Troubleshoot issues across cloud infrastructure, networks, and simulation workloads. Stay current with advances in cloud technologies and recommend improvements to enhance RAPTR capabilities. Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong

proficiency

with containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS/EKS/AKS). Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc.). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, security requirements, and

DevSecOps

practices. Experience with distributed computing, parallel processing, or scaling compute-intensive workloads. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen. Desired Qualifications Experience supporting modeling and simulation platforms or compute-intensive applications. Knowledge of DoD cloud security requirements (IL4/IL5, FedRAMP, CMMC). Familiarity with data pipelines, orchestration frameworks (e.g., Prefect, Airflow), or HPC/cluster environments. Experience working in Agile development teams. LMI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
