Overview
Infosys is seeking a Lead Mainframe Developer. This position’s primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and coordinate day-to-day deliverables for the team. The chosen candidate will assist in the technical design of large business systems; build applications, interfaces between applications, understand data security, retention, and recovery. The role holder should be able to research technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions and contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards; contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability and scalability; provide expertise on significant application components, programming languages, databases, operating systems, etc., and guide/mentors the team during the build and test phases. Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and coordinate day-to-day deliverables for the team. Assist in the technical design of large business systems; build applications and interfaces between applications. Research technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions and contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards. Contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability and scalability. Share expertise on significant application components, program languages, databases, operating systems, and guide/mentors during the build and test phases. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education. At least 4 years of Information Technology experience. Experience in DB2. Experience in COBOL. Preferred Qualifications
At least 4 to 8 years of experience in software design and development using Mainframe including COBOL, CICS, JCL, TAL, TACL, C, SCOBOL & operating System - Tandem Non-Stop Kernel. Experience in DB2 and VSAM. Experience in software development life cycle. Experience in mainframe along with data stage like ETL. Experience in project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects. Willing to work in application/production support. Experience in banking domain. Strong communication and analytical skills. Ability to work in a team in a diverse/multiple stakeholder environment. Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment. Location and Travel
Candidate must be located within commuting distance of
Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX
or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations. Work Authorization
