Supervisor of Foster Care Unit Full Time/Part Time Regular Full Time | 35 hours per week | Salary: $70,000
Job Summary:
The FFC Unit Supervisor oversees the permanency planning for children placed in care, including provision of services to children and families. He/she is responsible for the unit’s compliance with ASFA and other ACS, state and federal regulations, and their attendance at, and compliance with, all Family Team conferences, ACS conferences, court hearings, etc. He/she interacts and coordinates closely with program and agency administrations, as well as assumes specific functions to reach program goals, such as training, monitoring records, and evaluating staff performance. The unit supervisor must monitor the unit’s cases to comply with program goals and ACS/OCFS regulations and guide casework staff in their ongoing participation in ChildSuccessNYC.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assumes on-site administrative responsibility for all aspects of the FFC permanency planning process.
Reviews regulations/standards and enforces compliance; alerts Assistant Vice President/Vice President to programmatic needs.
Participates with Assistant Vice President/Vice President in the job hiring process.
Supervises, trains and evaluates caseworkers, support staff, and other assigned staff as needed.
Maintains cooperative and productive relationships with other agency programs and departments, as well as with other Child Welfare agencies in the community.
Ensures compliance with all ACS/OCFS regulations, including submission of FASPs, Permanency Hearing reports and other important documents.
Attends Family Team Conferences and oversees FASPs, Permanency Hearing Reports and other vital written materials.
Ensures compliance with Family Court, ASFA Regulations and ACS directive.
Monitors case record documentation.
Assigns cases to workers.
Education & Experience
MSW or alternate Masters required; LMSW preferred.
CANS certified; at least three years experience in the field of child welfare.
Two years supervisory experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly required to effectively communicate clearly. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Travel unassisted, able to type progress notes.
