The Engineer III, Systems is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of complex systems that support Concentra's IT infrastructure. This role involves configuring and optimizing server environments, ensuring high availability and performance of applications. Engineers conduct regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement security measures to protect sensitive data. They troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for successful project deployments and integrations. Responsibilities
System Design and Architecture: design, implement, and maintain complex systems architecture; evaluate performance, ensure scalability, integrate new technologies; develop specifications; troubleshoot and optimize architectures for efficiency. Systems Configuration and Management: configure, deploy, and maintain server environments; install operating systems, apply patches, manage user accounts; monitor performance and troubleshoot; implement security measures and integrate systems with other IT teams. Configure, administer and maintain Cloud and IT Subscription environments (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, Citrix, AWS). Performance Monitoring and Optimization: monitor system performance metrics; analyze data to identify bottlenecks; configure parameters; conduct regular assessments; collaborate with development teams to optimize applications and ensure infrastructure meets current and future workloads. Security Implementation and Audits: implement security protocols, conduct audits for compliance, manage access controls, monitor for threats, document processes, and train team members on security best practices. Troubleshooting System Issues: diagnose and resolve complex issues across platforms; analyze logs and perform root cause analysis; document solutions and coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime. Documentation of System Processes: create and maintain SOPs, diagrams, and configuration management records; ensure documentation reflects current practices and compliance with standards. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: work with software development, network operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and knowledge sharing. Backup and Disaster Recovery: design and maintain backup and DR solutions; configure schedules, test recoveries, and update DR plans; monitor performance and troubleshoot failures to minimize downtime. System Upgrades and Patch Management: plan, test, and implement upgrades and patches; evaluate releases; coordinate with vendors; ensure compatibility and document changes; monitor post-upgrade performance. User Access Management and Support: manage user access and permissions; monitor access logs; conduct audits; provide support for authentication issues and MFA implementations as needed. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science (degree must be from an accredited college or university). Experience:
8+ years in systems engineering with Microsoft Windows Server OS; hands-on Active Directory administration (forests, trust relationships, group policies, DNS, AD FS); Linux OS configuration; advanced Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange, Intune, Teams, and hybrid AD/Exchange environments; Citrix DaaS administration; scripting in PowerShell, Python, Bash or similar; familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, PRTG, SolarWinds) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) a plus. Other required competencies include service mentality, attention to detail, initiative, flexibility, strong customer service, data confidentiality (HIPAA/PHI), critical thinking, adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
