JOB TITLE: Software Engineer - Typescript LOCATION: Onsite in Austin, TX (Preferred) or Fremont, CA DURATION: 6 month contract to hire RATE RANGE: $65-68/hour As a Software Engineer, you’ll take part in the design, development, and deployment of applications/tools to automate/enhance Factory Software processes and to better manage manufacturing systems. In this role, you’ll be expected to take ownership of and develop solutions for complex problems, while closely collaborating with Factory Software support teams. You’ll be expected to move projects along at an aggressive pace and ensure the developed solutions are secure and scalable across our factories globally. Factory Software is directly involved in supporting and solving a diverse set of problems daily. Your contributions will directly support our mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend systems using Typescript, Go, Rust and other programming languages, including internal web applications, engineering tools, and real-time software systems Develop new system architectures, databases, and integration systems to meet the requirements of our applications and ensure seamless integration with frontend systems Write elegant and scalable application programming interface (APIs) to interact with applications, systems, and databases, and design and develop real-time software systems using technologies such as Apache Kafka, Redis and Kubernetes Create logging and monitoring systems to track system health and optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend, DevOps, and data science teams, to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our backend systems and realize interactive solutions through rapid iteration Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in our backend systems and strive for best software engineering practices through code reviews, design documentation, and adherence to coding standards and best practices Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our backend systems and drive innovation in areas such as new web development technologies and backend technologies Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science, Compute Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience in backend software development Proficiency in designing and developing scalable, efficient, and secure APIs using Typescript, Go, Rust, or others, with in-depth knowledge of REST and Web standards, and experience with popular frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, etc. Experience with databases, including SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, etc. Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes, and experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple tight deadlines Strong understanding of software design patterns, principles, and best practices, and experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Strong attention to details and diligent in unit testing and integration testing practices, and excellent problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders Benefits
