CTL|Thompson, Inc. is seeking a Structural Staff Engineer for full-time employment with our Fort Collins, CO and Cheyenne, WY offices. The Staff Engineer will work on design projects in commercial, residential, and municipal structures. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and analyzing structural components and systems to achieve design goals, using computer-aided design software to analyze loads, perform engineering analysis, and develop structural models and construction documents. Pay and Benefits

Base pay range: $60,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr. Staff Engineers are paid an annual salary within this range plus discretionary bonuses. Benefits include paid vacation and paid sick time, medical, life and long-term disability insurances. Retirement benefits include a 401K and Profit Sharing Plan. Duties/Responsibilities

Perform engineering analysis on residential, commercial, and municipal structures. Prepare and check structural design calculations, computer models, and plans. Use computer software to draft framing plans, foundation plans and details. Use relevant software to aid with project analysis. Design structures utilizing steel, timber and reinforced concrete design. Consider the strength of construction materials and choose appropriately. Perform load tracking on structures. Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers and architects to develop coordinated designs. Prepare reports, letters, and plans for clients. Attend project meetings. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities

Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent knowledge of current code requirements. Experience with AutoCAD. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to gather, analyze and understand geological data. Understanding of construction means and methods. Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate and work well with a team. Education and Experience

B.S in Civil Engineering or related field. EI designation or ability to obtain it within 6 months for employees with a qualifying engineering discipline degree. 0-5 years of relative engineering experience. Preferred Experience

At least 3 months of experience in Engineering Field Technician, Engineering Design, or Construction positions. Work Environment

This job operates in both an outside field environment and an office setting. Regular work on computers in the office. In the field, exposure to extreme weather conditions may occur. Routine use of PPE and other safety equipment. Work is project-focused with client interactions required. Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. Ability to walk around construction sites with uneven and varying terrain. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. Contingencies for Employment

Verification of right to work in the United States (I-9) within three days of starting employment.
