About the Role
Realtor.com is a two-sided platform helping match site/app users to paying customers. The Customer Data Science & Analytics team provides trusted data and insights to optimize the customer experience and drive commercial performance. We are looking for a hands-on, experienced manager to lead a team of data scientists and business analysts, partnering with sales, marketing, and product stakeholders to answer critical business questions. Reporting to the Director of Commercial Data Science & Analytics, this role manages multiple areas of work and contributes to strategies to improve sales, customer acquisition, retention, and growth. This is a full-stack data science leadership role with strong stakeholder and project management requirements.
What you’ll do
Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and business analysts, provide technical guidance, establish execution frameworks, ensure quality and timely delivery, and foster collaboration and innovation.
Develop data and analytics strategies aligned with business goals in assigned areas.
Partner with stakeholders to clarify needs and work with the team to analyze data and build solutions.
Work with large, complex data sets to solve problems using methods including regression, classification, time series, clustering, and advanced ML.
Create trusted analytic data layers that serve as a single version of truth and enable broad access to key metrics.
Build and improve reporting capabilities (e.g., Tableau dashboards) for self-serve insights and decision support; conduct deep-dive analyses to explain observations and trends.
Build data science models to surface actionable insights, predict trends or propensity, and optimize operations and resource allocation.
Design and execute experiments to test business hypotheses, prepare readouts, and provide data-driven recommendations.
Prepare deliverables and present to technical and non-technical audiences; influence leaders with clear insights and actionable recommendations.
Foster partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders and identify opportunities to improve business performance with data and analytics.
Collaborate across the Customer Data Science & Analytics organization to ensure broad adoption of initiatives.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a player-coach leader who is intellectually curious, passionate about solving complex business problems with data and analytics, and able to move fast while focusing on high-impact projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Econometrics, Data Science, Computer Science).
6+ years of professional experience in data science and analytics, with 2+ years in people management.
SQL fluency with 5+ years of experience.
3+ years of experience using Python or R.
Significant experience with experimentation in a business context including design, execution, tracking, analysis, and readouts.
Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and leadership.
Proven experience using data and analytics to drive revenue and KPIs, proactively identifying opportunities.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners.
Experience managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field or Business Analytics with strong quantitative background.
Experience with Snowflake and AWS; cloud-based data environments.
Experience building analytic data layers; knowledge of ETL, data governance, DBT, Airflow, Snowflake.
Experience leading reporting/data visualization (Tableau or similar); understanding of infrastructure, monitoring, and alerting for critical reporting.
Ability to develop a roadmap for complex technical initiatives and communicate progress clearly.
