This individual must demonstrate the ability to resolve issues through immediate action and short-term planning in engineering applications. This position will play a key role in major deployment projects by leading, organizing, and performing verification, integration, and testing activities for signaling projects. Activities may involve the adaptation of a generic solution or a vertical solution encompassing both product development and project implementation, all aligned with the client’s requirements for quality, cost, and delivery. The role includes defining and leading in-house project activities related to verification, integration, and testing, either performed by the V&V department or delegated to subject matter experts in other signaling departments. The Senior Engineer will collaborate closely with Test & Commissioning Engineers to ensure seamless integration of in-house and on-site testing activities. Investigates, troubleshoots, and provides recommendations for resolving complex, unique, or major technical problems. Provides technical leadership to individuals or teams in addressing these issues. Advises and provides technical direction on assigned projects to other technical staff involved in the same projects. Performs design work including electro-mechanical circuit design, relay-based and/or application-based logic, hardware and software interfaces, material selection, and equipment rack layouts. Relies on extensive industry experience to continuously improve departmental work instructions, processes, and procedures. Maintains project-related files and documents, including revision control of documents under their direct responsibility. Develops project-related requirements for test environments. Prepares accurate material lists to meet both internal and external project requirements. Troubleshoots issues identified during factory and field testing, offering technical solutions to minimize project impact. Contributes to the definition of the Project Verification and Validation (V&V) strategy as outlined in the V&V Plan and proactively supports its implementation. Defines verification methodologies for specific deliverables, when required by the V&V strategy. Develops test plans and test descriptions for in-house activities; coordinates with the Test and Commissioning (T&C) team for exported testing. Performs and reports on assigned verification, integration, and testing activities. When safety is involved, shares and justifies results with the Safety Assurance Manager to support the safety case. Interfaces with experts in other departments to align methodologies for V&V activities. Specifies, procures, develops, sets up, and configures test environments for KB Signaling solutions. Provides data to support the maintenance of applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Defines the project Requirement Validation Table (RVT) to demonstrate compliance with technical requirements. Organizes and leads document verification and review activities. Manages the full verification and validation of all configured functions, including parameters and data produced for the project. Monitors and follows up on the execution and reporting of V&V activities delegated to other departments. Defines needs and architecture and oversees the implementation of test benches and analysis tools. Ensures independence of verification from the design process. Selects and manages subcontractors, if needed. Provides training on test setup configuration and usage.
