Overview
CTG is seeking to fill a QA Automation Engineer (SDET) with Karate Framework + Java opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ. Location:
Phoenix, AZ Duration:
Ongoing contract Duties
Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Java and the Karate framework.
Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both front-end and back-end systems.
Develop and test REST APIs with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure test coverage and adherence to quality standards.
Implement BDD practices with Cucumber and Gherkin for behavior-driven development.
Apply advanced knowledge of test strategies, code coverage, and QA best practices.
Contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps initiatives.
Skills
6+ years of hands-on experience in backend Java automation and REST API testing.
Strong experience with front-end and back-end automation frameworks, including Karate.
Proficiency in Java, BDD (Cucumber, Gherkin), and test design strategies.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and version control (e.g., Git).
Deep knowledge of reactive programming, multithreading, and design patterns.
Strong background with Spring and Spring Boot.
Understanding of cloud environments, scalability, and modern QA practices.
Experience
Proven track record in designing and implementing automated test frameworks.
Experience working in Agile teams with strong collaboration skills.
Prior experience in scaling test automation across enterprise systems.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
