Lead Responsibilities:
Leads service team members while performing serving duties to provide exceptional customer service in all areas of service to tenants and guests in the dining room. Champions and follows a correct sequence of service methods by demonstrating hospitality over service. Leads stand-up meetings to ensure the team is prepared to execute exceptional meal service. Leads by example with a neat and presentable appearance in accordance with Liberty dress code. Lead servers will assist managers with scheduling front-of-house team members. Hospitality:
Assists host and other servers with seating and ensuring there are seats available when tenants arrive for meals. Responsible for setting/clearing tables and arranging seating with neat flatware, napkins, and placements. Ensures cleanliness and condition of all china and flatware. Assists residents who need help selecting meals. Responsible for cleaning the dining room and serving area between meals and at the end of shift. Follows sanitation schedules. Prepares/plats food items such as salads, soups, desserts and hot/cold beverages. Keeps supplies stocked in the serving area. Rotates menus, manages guest charge tickets, resident declining dollar, point of sale and room service forms. Assists with dish and utensil washing and cleaning, and with cleaning tables, vacuuming dining areas, sweeping and mopping as needed. Participates in daily tasks per sanitary, safety, and infection control policies. May assist with special events/activities. Reports guest complaints to Dining Supervisors. Maintains good relationships with tenants and guests. Food Safety:
Uses safe food preparation methods for receiving, preparing, storing, cooling, freezing, holding, transporting, serving, and reheating foods. Monitors temperature records and checklists for holding and storing equipment. Keeps kitchen clean and sanitary. Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work areas. Takes corrective action if standards are not met. Customer Dining:
Creates a positive dining experience that promotes independence, choice and well-being. Encourages participation in the dining program and meal activities. Solicits feedback by interacting with customers in the market cafe and reports feedback to the Executive Chef. Miscellaneous:
Actively participates in quality performance across job responsibilities and promotes teamwork. Seeks, recommends and/or implements methods for quality service and continuous improvement. Participates in continuing educational opportunities as appropriate. Other Duties as Assigned:
Reports items in need of repair to Dining Supervisors. Uses infection control procedures. Assists with tenant evacuations during emergencies. May assist staff with event preparations and cleanup. Plans resident events with Dining Room Manager/Director of Food and Beverage and other staff. Attends in-service training and required meetings. Carries out special projects and helps in other areas as needed. Job Requirements
High school diploma and a minimum of 6 months’ experience in a restaurant, hotel, or country club. Must have or be willing to obtain a food safety certification. Work experience in a service-oriented profession preferred but not required. Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards the elderly is essential. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately. Attends trainings and department meetings when necessary. Performs other duties as outlined by supervisor.
