Responsibilities

Support the Data Comm Network Services (DCNS) program as a Project Engineer.

Manage programmatic aspects of the program and ensure schedule and cost targets are met.

Coordinate and lead deployment, operations, and sustainment activities with technical expertise.

Plan, schedule, and direct engineering support of the program; maintain alignment with the PM and customer.

Lead the engineering team to deliver quality, error-free technical deliverables (including subcontractor deliverables) on cost and schedule.

Maintain open and clear communication with the PM, engineering function, team members, suppliers, and customer(s).

Engage with engineering leadership to ensure necessary resources and support are available.

Essential Functions

Responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a range of hardware and software deployment and integration efforts.

Lead the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs) within allocated cost and schedule commitments.

Communicate within and outside the organization to influence leadership to adopt new practices, approaches, and concepts.

Develop or champion new systems, concepts, or technologies.

Recommend tactics and strategies that directly impact overall business objectives.

Manage the implementation of cost, schedule, and technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within program guidelines.

Review status of engineering projects and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.

Assess engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals.

Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.

Coordinate between resource managers/supervisors and ensure necessary reviews and approvals are received.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

Experience with Technical Supplier Management, Risk and Opportunity Management.

Experience with management of design to cost activities.

Experience in managing multi-discipline programs across multiple locations.

Interest in implementing solutions as a managed service.
