Assist with traffic engineering projects, including technical analyses, data collection, and report preparation Perform traffic analyses to identify operational and safety challenges across various modes of transportation Support the development of travel demand forecasts for current and future traffic scenarios Participate in client meetings, technical forums, and public hearings to present findings and solutions Use traffic modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA) to analyze traffic conditions and develop engineering reports Assist in identifying mitigation measures and safety countermeasures to address traffic deficiencies Contribute to the preparation of traffic design documents, such as signing, pavement marking, and traffic signal plans in compliance with MUTCD standards Collaborate with senior engineers on project tasks and contribute to interdisciplinary projects Support business development efforts through research, proposal preparation, and client interaction Ensure adherence to FHU's quality management standards while gaining technical and project experience Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from an accredited institution (required) Skills: Familiarity with traffic engineering standards (e.g., MUTCD, ITE, NACTO, AASHTO) and basic knowledge of traffic modeling software. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills Licensure: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or active pursuit of certification preferred The pay for this position has a range of $70,000 - $85,000 annually.
