Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior/Principal Network Engineer to join our Global Network Engineering team. This pivotal role focuses on the design, implementation, and optimization of a global network with emphasis on advanced routing, network security, wireless, and automation. The ideal candidate will mentor others, drive automation, and uphold operational excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. What You’ll Take On

Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the global network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability across data centers and offices. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot complex routing protocols with expert-level proficiency in BGP for 100G/10G/1G waves, Ethernet, Direct Internet Access (DIA), and MPLS circuits. Manage and optimize network devices including Arista switches, Meraki access switches, access points, and MX VPN devices. Work with Silverpeak (Aruba HP EdgeConnect) SD-WAN to optimize application performance and network efficiency. Collaborate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to evaluate, select, and optimize connectivity products for resiliency. Maintain a strong background in cloud networking concepts and connectivity within public cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP). Security & Firewalls

Serve as the subject matter expert for Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including Panorama management. Apply deep understanding of Palo Alto features (App-ID, User-ID, Threat Prevention, WildFire, GlobalProtect, SD-WAN) and best practices for configuration and troubleshooting. Lead software upgrades, patch management, and maintain the security posture of the firewall environment. Load Balancing & Application Delivery

Manage and optimize F5 BIG-IP LTM/ASM/APM devices for application delivery, load balancing, and security. Network Automation & Scripting

Drive network automation initiatives using programming skills (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform) to streamline operations, configuration management, and deployment. Develop and maintain scripts and tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort. Promote best practices in network programmability and contribute to team development in this area. Wireless Network Management

Design, deploy, and maintain a robust wireless environment using Meraki access points to ensure optimal coverage, performance, and security. Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Utilize and optimize Checkmk to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve network performance issues and outages. Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of complex network incidents across platforms. Mentorship & Collaboration

Mentor junior network engineers and foster professional growth through knowledge sharing and peer reviews. Contribute to a collaborative team environment with strong attention to detail in design, configuration, and documentation. On-Call Support

Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (1 week primary, 1 week backup) to provide 24/7 support for critical network infrastructure. What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 8+ years of progressive enterprise network engineering experience, with senior or principal responsibilities. Expert-level proficiency with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PAN-OS, Panorama) including advanced features and troubleshooting. Deep experience with BGP routing in a global multi-circuit environment. Strong experience with Arista EOS and Meraki devices (switches, APs, MX). Experience with Silverpeak (Aruba HP EdgeConnect) SD-WAN. Proficiency in F5 BIG-IP LTM/DNS/APM. Proven programming/scripting experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform) for automation. Strong understanding of cloud networking principles and public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). Extensive wireless network design and troubleshooting experience, especially with Meraki. Familiarity with network monitoring platforms like Checkmk. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities. Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Industry certifications (e.g., PCNSE, CCIE, CCNP, Meraki certifications) are highly desirable. What We Offer You

Pay range and benefits information: The pay range for this position in New York City at the start of employment is expected to be between $133,900 and $198,160 per year. The total compensation package may include a bonus, equity awards, and participation in our 401(k) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Benefits also include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, parental and compassionate leave, wellbeing programs, and other wellness support.
