Civil Cost Estimator, Analyst 2 – Airports & Infrastructure

Working under the direction of senior Analysts and Specialists, the Civil Analyst 2 will build technical estimating skills, contribute to interdisciplinary coordination, and play an active role in improving Connico’s internal tools and workflows. This position is designed for professionals ready to grow toward an Analyst III role.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for civil components with oversight and review. Assist in preparing Rough Order-of-Magnitude and planning-level estimates for civil scopes such as grading, site utilities, and roadways. Support development of unit pricing using historical data. Assist in calculating and applying estimating markups. Identify and escalate discrepancies or inconsistencies in takeoffs. Drawing Review & Scope Clarification Review drawings, plans, sections, and details to identify scope components. Interpret specifications and drawing sets to support accurate takeoff and pricing. Flag missing or inconsistent scope elements and assist with clarifications. Build knowledge of civil plan sets, including profiles, cross-sections, and utility plans. Develop awareness of interdisciplinary interfaces that impact estimating accuracy. Maintain organized logs and documentation of measurement data and cost assumptions. Assist in compiling estimate notes and documenting assumptions. Support updates to Connico’s internal cost database by recording quantities, prices, and project-specific considerations. Conduct basic market research to identify materials, suppliers, and labor inputs. Identify and document cost drivers that deviate from standard conditions. Collaborate with Analysts and Specialists to meet deadlines and quality standards. Provide guidance to Analyst I team members on QTO methods. Substantiate takeoffs and estimate inputs when requested by team members. Contribute to internal templates, checklists, or documentation tools. Participate in estimate review meetings, internal training, and coordination calls. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted. 1-2+ years of civil or interdisciplinary cost estimating experience required. Demonstrated ability to perform accurate and consistent quantity takeoffs. Familiarity with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, MII, or Success is preferred. Collaboration on smaller or early-phase projects. Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, and engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Knowledge of estimating formats and terminology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder communication. Aviation sector estimating experience preferred but not required.
