SAIC is seeking a
Cloud Systems Administrator
for our customer site in
North Charleston, SC . Responsibilities: Manage and maintain existing AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, IAM users and roles, RDS instances, and other AWS services. Manage and maintain VMware virtual environments, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi hosts. Implement and manage security groups, network access control lists (ACLs), and other security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data. Monitor system performance and health using AWS CloudWatch, VMware vRealize Operations, dashboards, and other monitoring tools. Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and system errors. Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions such as AWS Backup and VMware Site Recovery Manager. Implement and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency. Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS services, VMware features, and best practices. Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system availability and address incidents outside of normal business hours. Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and five (5) or more years of experience Strong understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, etc.). Strong understanding of VMware core services (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi). Hands-on experience in a cloud and virtualized environment. Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls. Familiarity with security best practices for cloud and virtualized environments. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills with an emphasis on customer experience. Must be a US Citizen with an active secret clearance Desired Skills: AWS certifications (e.g., SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect). VMware certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP). Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or VMware vRealize Automation. Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch and VMware vRealize Operations. Familiarity with Navy RMF process.
