Our team combines deep experience in fintech and alternative investments. We’ve built startups from the ground up, led quantamental engineering at a $70B hedge fund, and overseen valuations and portfolio monitoring at Goldman Sachs. Now, we’re bringing that expertise together to redefine how investment managers run their businesses.
The Role We’re looking for a
Founding Software Engineer
to join us at the ground floor. You’ll work directly with the founders and design partners to build core infrastructure and shape the future of the product. This is a unique opportunity to join a venture-backed startup early, influence both technology and company culture, and help define how alternative investment managers operate in the next decade.
What You’ll Do
Design and build scalable solutions to standardize data management across asset classes.
Develop infrastructure for ingesting, transforming, and analyzing structured and unstructured investment data.
Partner directly with customers to understand workflows and translate them into product features.
Shape Rengo AI’s technical culture, hiring, and roadmap alongside the founders.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
5 years software development experience at a venture-backed startup or top technology firm.
Proficiency in building backend and API systems using technologies such as Python, Java, or Go.
Extensive experience with cloud platforms and technologies (e.g. AWS, Redis, Temporal)
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to building products with both engineers and business stakeholders.
Strong passion for technology, frameworks, and continuous learning, with a focus on personal and professional growth.
Values rapid prototyping and iterative development, incorporating user feedback to drive improvements.
Self-driven and motivated to take ownership of major projects and initiatives.
Bonuses:
Experience building agentic systems or LLM enabled products.
Frequent user of AI products, especially during the development lifecycle (i.e. Cursor, Claude Code, etc).
