Overview
Project Engineer, Renewable Electrical Engineering (SCADA) at Invenergy. This position is on the construction team responsible for the engineering, procurement and commissioning of supervisory control & data acquisition (SCADA) systems and associated communications infrastructure for renewable energy projects. You will coordinate with multiple stakeholders to develop conceptual designs and manage procurement, final detailed designs, commissioning, and acceptance testing on wind, solar and battery storage projects. The SCADA & IT systems may include RTACs, RTUs, plant controllers, network switches, firewalls, annunciators, HMIs and related connectivity. Invenergy drives innovation in energy. Specification and configuration of SCADA, power plant controller, RTU, and IT equipment Develop conceptual project designs that comply with stakeholder and interconnection requirements Creation of conceptual block diagrams Review detailed design drawings Track design schedules, update stakeholders and ensure critical dates are met Organize and transfer as-built documentation to operations (schematics, bills of materials, programming settings) Coordinate procurement and installation of telecom services Interface with plant controller manufacturers, transmission operators, generator owners and operators to configure systems Coordinate networking equipment configuration, IP addressing, and firewall rule administration Monitor construction progress (remote and on-site), support field issue resolution, attend in-person meetings, and provide on-site programming during commissioning Ensure compliance with applicable NERC requirements and assist in energizing, commissioning, and turnover planning with the project team Coordinate with independent engineers and project partners during technical due diligence Assist in developing new projects by analyzing conceptual designs and RFQ specifications Coordinate with operations engineering and third-party customers to incorporate lessons learned into new designs Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technology through training and conferences Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline 3+ years of generation SCADA systems experience Knowledge of networking equipment used with renewable energy assets Advanced knowledge and programming of SCADA, HMI, PLC platforms Experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC, DNP3, ModBus and EGD Experience around HV/MV electrical infrastructure (substations, switchyards, distribution systems, transmission lines, transformers, relays, meters, CTs, PTs) Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future Up to 25% travel Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications
Prior installation, commissioning and site construction experience in renewable power generation Experience with GE WindSCADA, GE WindCONTROL, Vestas Online Business, SEL RTAC, and/or Ignition by Inductive Automation Working knowledge of NERC compliance for low impact cyber systems Ability to coordinate and manage multiple concurrent projects Strong knowledge of computer and server operation Strong project management, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills Base Pay: $97,000.00 - $120,000.00 USD annually Bonus: 20% - 30% | The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position.
