GIS Analyst – Python

Overview

Job Title: GIS Analyst – Python & ArcGIS Workflow Automation Location: Atlanta, GA (On-Site or Hybrid) Employment Type: W2 Contract Duration: 12+ Months Position Overview

We are seeking a GIS Analyst with strong

Python development skills

to design, implement, and automate

spatial QA/QC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control)

processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing and maintaining

geospatial data validation tools

using

ArcPy

and the

ArcGIS API for Python

within an enterprise GIS environment. This role involves developing automated QA/QC scripts to validate spatial data accuracy and integrating them into

Esri’s ArcGIS Workflow Manager

to ensure high-quality, consistent, and reliable GIS data across the organization. Key Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain

spatial QA/QC checks

for geodatabases and feature datasets. Automate

data validation workflows

using

Python ,

ArcPy , and the

ArcGIS API for Python . Build and optimize scripts for

data integrity ,

geometry validation ,

topology checks , and

attribute consistency . Integrate Python QA/QC scripts into

ArcGIS Workflow Manager

to enable automated validation within enterprise workflows. Collaborate with GIS teams, data engineers, and analysts to identify, analyze, and correct

spatial data issues . Support

data migration, transformation , and

coordinate system alignment

across multiple data sources. Maintain technical documentation, reusable Python modules, and

version control

using Git. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) ,

Computer Science ,

Geography , or a related field. 3+ years

of professional experience in GIS analysis and data management. Strong proficiency in

Python , with hands-on experience using

ArcPy

and

ArcGIS API for Python . Experience developing

spatial data QA/QC

and

workflow automation scripts . Hands-on experience with

ArcGIS Pro ,

ArcGIS Enterprise , and

ArcGIS Online . Strong understanding of

geodatabases, coordinate systems,

and

geoprocessing tools . Excellent

analytical ,

problem-solving , and

communication

skills. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

pandas ,

NumPy , or

GeoPandas

for spatial data manipulation. Knowledge of

REST APIs ,

FME ,

SQL , or

PostGIS . Familiarity with

version control tools (Git/GitHub)

and

Agile workflows . Seniority
