APN - Surgical Nurse Practitioner (Vascular Surgery)
Position overview: Serve as health care provider to vascular surgical patients primarily in outpatient and office settings. Performs evaluations on acute and chronically ill patients. Coordinates the care of patients in need of assistance both prior to and after visits. Primary job duties include clinical responsibilities, patient collaborator responsibilities, patient resource responsibilities and communication responsibilities. Outpatient clinical responsibilities include evaluation and management of patients in the Outpatient Vascular Surgery Clinic and Pre-admission Testing (PAT) evaluation of patients in preparation for surgery. Inpatient clinical responsibilities include evaluation and management of new inpatient consults, evaluation and management of pre-op and post-op vascular surgery inpatients and the discharge process for vascular surgery inpatients and same-day patients. Provide clinical care for vascular surgery patients in outpatient and inpatient settings. Perform evaluations for acute and chronic patients; coordinate pre- and post-visit care. Manage outpatient clinic duties, PAT evaluations, pre-operative planning, and post-operative follow-up. Evaluate and manage new inpatient consults; oversee pre-op and post-op care and discharge planning for vascular surgery patients. Qualifications
Experience: Required; Preferred: 3-5 years nursing experience in an ICU and CV postoperative management background. Education: Required: Master’s degree or greater; Graduate from an ANA-accredited School of Nursing. Licenses and Certifications: Required: New Jersey RN license and certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive authority; Current CDS and DEA required within 6 months of employment; credentialing and clinical privileges per Center procedure. Skills: Required: Maintain continuing education credits, current CPR and ACLS certification, and 20 hours/year of ANCC-approved NP recertification; 50% of credits from an ANCC provider over 5 years; computer proficiency. $128,000 - $155,000 Note: Salary and, where applicable, other compensation are based on several factors including experience, education, credentials, and internal equity. Benefits
