Overview
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon VHMC/Valleywise Health Medical Center: Phoenix, Arizona District Medical Group (DMG), one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in Metropolitan Phoenix, has an immediate practice opportunity for a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. Responsibilities
Develop the clinical service line in plastic and reconstructive surgery, providing inpatient and outpatient general plastic and reconstructive surgery services in elective and emergent settings. Share call coverage and participate in teaching residents within a hospital-affiliated academic environment. Work with a team-based approach to patient management and collaborate with other specialties as needed. Engage in collaborative research activities and contribute to developing and growing plastic surgery services at VHMC. Assist in program development in alignment with the hospital’s strategic plans and existing residency rotations. Qualifications
Completed Plastic Surgery residency training. Board certified or eligible. Previous faculty experience in an academic environment is preferred. Comfortable managing the full range of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery patients. Experience with Maxillofacial Trauma and Microvascular surgery is a plus, but not required. About DMG / VHMC
The Surgery Department staffs Valleywise Health System (VHS) at Valleywise Health Medical Center (VHMC), a 250-bed academic community hospital and designated ACS and State of Arizona Level I Adult/Level II Pediatric Trauma/Level I Burn Center. VHMC is an urban teaching hospital with a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency, and the Plastic Surgery Division accepts resident rotators from the Mayo Clinic. DMG is a faculty partner in the Creighton University Medical School educational alliance. The new facility project is funded and scheduled for completion in June 2024. Compensation & Benefits
