Mammographer – Rush University Medical Center Location: Chicago, Illinois Business Unit: Rush Medical Center Department: Breast Imaging Technical Work Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0) Shift: Shift 1 Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 4:30:00 PM) Rush offers exceptional rewards and benefits. Pay Range: $38.02 - $61.88 per hour Notes: Rush salaries are determined by education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data. Offers may vary by case. Responsibilities
Produces high quality breast images for interpretation in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Assists in room preparedness (e.g., cleaning rooms and setting up supplies, including ultrasound rooms) and supports radiologists during interventional breast procedures. Informs patients and referring physicians of appointment delays as needed. Follows departmental protocols and procedures to produce images that meet quality standards and adhere to schedules. Maintains familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS), EPIC and PACS (Candelis). Maintains a screening technical repeat average of 1% or lower and keeps licensure/registry status current as required by state or regulatory bodies. Maintains logs/documentation per departmental protocol and ensures patient privacy and confidentiality. Supports training and development of students assigned to the area. Provides detailed patient history and other pertinent information to aid proper interpretation of images. Delivers quality patient care aligned with departmental and age-specific standards of care. Reports supply shortages or equipment failures to the operations manager and/or team leader. Qualifications
Formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program. Valid Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license. ARRT Registry or Registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Proficient in modality physics and operation of equipment; knowledge of human anatomy, pathology and physiology. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Maintains Illinois State License for Radiography. Maintains ARRT Mammography certification. Meets Level 1/2/3/4 requirements as applicable (Level 2 JC: 2208; Level 3 JC: 3179; Level 4 JC: 3108). Proficient in interventional breast biopsy procedures (as applicable) and breast ultrasound modalities when required. Benefits & Additional Information
