What You’ll Do Nurtures residents, clients, and/or members, ensuring the delivery of top-notch care under supervision of designated departmental leadership and/or other medical professionals as appropriate.

Position Details

Full Time (40 hours per week) Monday through Friday, any shift between 7 am - 6 pm

Pay Range: $21.50 to $23.50 Hourly

Responsibilities

Answers call lights to determine residents’ or clients’ needs (Communities and Day Care only).

Assists residents, clients, or members with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, eating (set-up, serving, and collecting food plates and utensils), feeding residents who require assistance, dressing, oral hygiene, and grooming as needed.

Assistance with toileting and provides appropriate peri care for incontinent residents, clients, or members.

Assists residents, clients, or members to turn, reposition, and transfer, which may be performed by the CNA without assistance, with two-person assistance, or using a lift machine per care plan.

Transports residents, clients, or members to appropriate areas for activities and meals.

Records ADLs, vitals, intake/output of food and fluid, transfers and ambulation status, mood/behaviors, pain level, and other pertinent information.

Provides companion services according to care plan and exchanges information with Licensed Staff for changes in condition.

Monitors and supervises residents, clients, and members as assigned; participates in CQI/QA programs; adheres to schedules and uses time/attendance systems.

Interacts with residents, clients, and members in alignment with AFC’s mission, values, mindsets and guideposts; attends mandatory in-service programs; complies with health screenings; participates in emergency drills as outlined in policies.

Exclusive Essential Functions for CNA

Active participation in Center programs and activities; serves and collects food and assists with meal setup and cleanup.

Changes bed linens and performs related laundry duties; understands individualized service plans to assist with goals.

Maintains Center facilities and equipment; supports client participation in activities; promotes socialization.

Education/Experience High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combined education and experience.

Certifications Current State of Hawaii Certified Nurse Aide certificate. Current First Aid and CPR certificate.

Computer Skills Proficiency in using a computer; experience with Vision or Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.

Physical Demands Regularly required to use hands, stand, walk, sit; may lift up to 50 pounds; vision abilities required as described.

Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to various weather conditions.

Occasional exposure to hazardous materials; air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned settings.
